Title IX Student Advisory Committee

The Title IX & Bias Response (T9BR) Student Advisory Committee (formerly the Student Title IX Working Group) was formed in 2013 to help guide MIT’s education and outreach efforts.

The Purpose & Vision

The Title IX Student Advisory Committee strives to create an inclusive culture that is safer, active, and more empowering. The Committee believes that all students should feel safe on campus and should not be treated differently based on their gender or sex. The Student Advisory Committee hopes to be a place where students across the Institute can be involved in inclusive and engaging discussions regarding how to better our school community and social spaces.

The Details

The Committee has graduate and undergraduate students who have formed sub-committees based on varied student interests. The minimum expectation is 15-20 hour commitment across the school year. Please e-mail Bianca Kaushal, the Title IX Education Specialist, at for more information or click here to submit an interest form to be on the Committee for the 2019-2020 Academic Year.

In addition to the full committee, there are four subcommittees:

1. Institutional Advocacy Subcommittee
2. Events Subcommittee
3. Grant Management Subcommittee
4. Marketing Subcommittee

The Next Meeting will be in September.
